John Lewis at the Clubs Charter Lunch in October (Kelvin Perry)

Since the beginning of July 2022, it has been a great honour for me taking over the reins as President of Woolmer Forest Lions Club from past President Joanne Wilson who did a super job in guiding the club to where it is now. The new year for all Lions clubs all over the world starts at the very beginning of July. My new role as President will take me through the next two years.

I would like to take this opportunity by expressing my thanks to Joanne. She has been totally committed to this role and it is a shame that Coronavirus meant that at times we were not able to meet face to face either for business meetings or socially and most of our fundraising had to be put on hold.

As a relatively new member I have certainly appreciated the wealth of experience of many members within the club. I have been a trustee for the last four years and I am relishing this new challenge. Woolmer Forest Lions is such a caring club, and I know that members will do all they can to continue to support me in helping those in the local community who need us. We will also continue to support both national and international appeals as they arise and our commitment to Message in a Bottle and Spek Trek continues. To this end I am also keen to work with other local agencies in our area.

If you would like to find out more about us, need our help or maybe even consider joining us, please feel free to contact me either via email, or telephone. I will endeavor to keep you regularly updated with what we are up to, so please check our club website and our Facebook page. Our role as Lions is to serve the community and so your input and support is vital to us, we need you to help us thrive.

Thank you everyone,

John Lewis
