November 2020

President Joanne's Update for November

We have now reached the middle of our second national lockdown and there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. With vaccinations looking possible for 2021, we can be hopeful of some return to normality.

In the meantime, our focus is turning to December and what we will be able to do this year. For many years now Woolmer Forest Lions have been out and about with Santa's sleigh collecting money for food parcels for local people in need. This year, whilst maintaining Covid safety, will be no different. Please check the website for the dates and locations, and come along and see us, any donations will be gratefully received.

We will also be supporting the Deadwater Valley Trust Christmas Tree Dressing. There will be a dressed tree at three locations - The Bordon Inclosure, The Hogmoor Inclosure, and the Deadwater Valley Nature Reserve - so go along and see if you can spot the Lions decorations.

It is not possible to plan any social events with the current restrictions, but our members continue to keep regular contact with each other and making sure that those in extra need have our support. Part of being a Lion is looking out for our fellow Lion's. If you would like to know more about what being a Lion involves, please do not hesitate to contact me - just email Joanne on aywilson@btopenworld.com

You may have already seen that we have now joined SmileAmazon and I would like to encourage you to support us through this when doing your online Christmas shopping. It is very easy, just click the link on the club's website Home page.

i hope you find ways to safely enjoy the build up to Christmas

Take Care

Joanne Wilson
