Headley Down Ukrainian Hub
A successful first meeting of the Headley Down Ukrainian Hub took place on Saturday August 13, at the Headley Down Community Hall.
Local hosts with their Ukrainian guests and children were given a warm welcome and enjoyed a relaxing morning over tea, coffee and cakes. Contacts were made and contact details were exchanged.
The Hub is run jointly by Headley Down Community Church members and members from the Woolmer Forest Lions Club. Whilst the adults chatted the children amused themselves playing with toys, which had been provided. Not all the guests could speak English, so we were delighted to be able to call upon Alina, a young Ukrainian woman who did a wonderful job as interpreter.
At the end of the meeting children were able to pick themselves a toy gift to take home with them.
The next Ukrainian Hub meeting is scheduled to take place on September 17th, at 10:30 -12:30
